What is PBS (Positive Behavior Supports)?
This year CCS will be continuing the Positive Behavior Support framework to enhance the structure and consistency of the discipline system. This in turn will continue to enhance the positive culture of our school. PBS is a comprehensive 3-tired approach to implementing positive and consistent student discipline systems in schools. PBS has been implemented in schools in the majority of states throughout the U.S. A major advance in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Positive behavior support is an application of a behaviorally-based systems approach to enhance the capacity of schools, families, and communities to design effective environments that improve the link between research-validated practices and the environments in which teaching and learning occurs.
Our goal as we continue to implement PBS at CCS is that all members of our school community will be able to:
SHOW PRIDE IN CCS BY:
- Respecting Yourself
- Respecting Others
- Respecting Property
