About Me
I feel so grateful and humbled that I have been given the gift of spending my work days in a classroom with children! I am constantly in awe of the committments by my students as we discuss, connect, act on and reflect on our learning together. I strive to build a strong sense of belonging so that each child can bring her/his best work into our classroom community.
I have taught at Charlotte Central for twenty years. I hold a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on curriculum and assessment. I currently serve on our school’s Literacy Committee. When not in the classroom I am read about best practices in reading, writing, word study and math!
I live in Burlington with my husband Clem. We are learning how to get the most of our urban property as we build new gardens to support our love of the outdoors. (this means having a vertical vision!) I have two daughters, Molly and Emma and a son-in-law named Ben! I have recently become a grandmother to Ella Maeve. Besides teaching I am drawn to walking, reading, yoga, gardening, COOKING AND LOCAL FOOD, knitting and sewing!
