In 1976, I was an eighth grader at South Valley Middle School in Gilcrest, Colorado. That year, I think that I felt like many of my current students; I was excited to be in eighth grade but ready to move on to high school and beyond. I had a strong sense that I would end up in New England. Happily, Vermont has been my home since 1984.

I love history, travel, music` and literature. I have Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in history from the University of Vermont, and I've been fortunate enough to visit parts of Europe, Australia and Asia. As a participant in the Japan Exchange Teaching Program, I spent two years in Sendai, Japan as an ESL educator, working in Japanese public schools. I currently live in Burlington with my husband, Jerry, son, Andrew, and two gerbils, Lala and Moomoo.
