INTERSCHOLASTIC SPORTS

Welcome to the Charlotte Central School's web site for Athletics.
Here you will find information pertaining to each season's schedule, scores, updates, and results.

The philosophy at Charlotte Central School is to create a safe environment as well as a competitive atmosphere for all athletes.  Our interscholastic program is composed of soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, and softball.  This program is open to all sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.  Depending on the season and student participation, we provide two levels of competition.  An 'A' team, which is focused on the more skilled player in a  more competitive setting, and a 'B' team, geared toward the developing player.

It is the belief of the Vermont Principals' Association that all aspects of middle grades education should be driven by an understanding of the unique physical, psychological, emotional, and educational needs of the middle level children we serve. The VPA has developed these standards in order that our middle school athletic/activities programs may consistently apply the best of what we know to this centrally important part of the larger middle grade program.  The emphasis of a Middle School activities program should be on teaching, participation, and progression without the competitive pressures.
